Entry Door Handle Sets
How should I clean my Rockwell handle set?
- Use a soft cloth and a mild liquid dishwashing soap detergent mixed with warm water.
- Gently wipe the surface of your hardware with the mild soap and water mixture.
- Using water only, wipe surfaces again to remove any detergent left behind.
- Immediately dry all surfaces with a clean towel.
- Do not spray or immerse the hardware in liquid at any time.
- Avoid using harsh cleaning chemicals as this will damage the finish.
How do I determine if I need to buy a right-hand or left-hand lever for my door?
- Rockwell handle sets are non-handed, meaning that they come complete with both right and left-handed levers to help ease the buying and installation process.
My front door is currently drilled with 6” between the handle grip and deadbolt. Can I install any of the full escutcheon handle set designs?
- No. All Rockwell full escutcheon handle sets are designed to accommodate a 5 ½” center to center spacing between the handle grip and the deadbolt. If your door is drilled to a dimension other than 5 ½”, we recommend choosing one of our sectional handle sets.
What door thickness do Rockwell handle sets support?
- Rockwell handle sets support doors that are 1 ¾” thick. If your door thickness is greater, a conversion kit can be purchased that will accommodate doors up to 2 ¼” thick.
What type of keyway does Rockwell use?
- Rockwell products utilize SC1 keyways and KW1 keyways are available upon request.
Can my Rockwell lock be rekeyed?
- Yes, they can be rekeyed by your local locksmith.
I have double doors and need a dummy handle set, does Rockwell carry any?
- For double door applications, two active handle set would need to be purchased, and a dummy conversion kit will be provided to convert one of the handle sets to an inactive function.
Do dummy handle sets require boring?
- Yes, the same door through-bore preparation is needed except no edge prep is necessary.
I have a Rockwell multipoint locking system installed in my door; can I use another manufacturer’s handle set?
- No, Rockwell multipoint locking systems are only compatible with our handle sets.
How do I determine the handing of my door?
- Knowing the handing of your door is required for Rockwell multipoint locking systems and handle sets and is simple to identify. Facing your door from the outside, the side that the hinges are located determines the handing of the door.
Does Rockwell offer any matte/flat black handle sets?
- No, not at this time.
Sliding Door Handles
I currently have a non-keyed handle set on my door, is it possible to change to a keyed handle set?
- Yes, however double check the number of holes bored on your door. If there are 3, a center locking handle set will work. If there are 4, an offset locking handle set would be needed.
Is the mortise lock and keeper included with Rockwell sliding door handle sets?
- No, because there are many different types of mortise locks. Depending on the configuration of your door and how it is routed, they are sold separately.
Are Rockwell sliding door handles handed?
- No, they are not handed and will work with both right and left-handed doors.
What is the screw hole spacing on Rockwell sliding door handle sets?
- Our screw holes are spaced 3 15/16” apart.
What is the door thickness that Rockwell sliding door handles support?
- Rockwell sliding door handles can accommodate doors with 1 ½ – 1 ¾” thickness. And are supplied with screws for both to ease installation.
I have a keyed Rockwell sliding door handle, is it possible to have it rekeyed?
- Yes, they can be rekeyed by your local locksmith.
